Review on πŸ’‘ Gray Belkin 12-Outlet Surge Protector for Home and Office with 8ft Cord by Payton Stovall

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good Features and Price

I bought several of these primarily based on a combination of features, reviews and price. I think it's a very good price and pretty decent protection. This unit has plenty of outlets for 120V applications, as well as outlets for phone and standard cable TV, so it covers the bases well. This Belkin model features standard surge protection, which uses an electronic component to short or "clamp" the voltage higher than expected, and a low-pass filter to clean up the power line. While it is true that surge components "wear out", this is not necessarily due to age, but rather to the size of the surge and the intensity of the "jumps". So if you live in an area with frequent power outages and lightning strikes, they may need to be replaced from time to time, but for the average user this should take a very long time.

Pros
  • Power Strips and Surge Protector
Cons
  • Expensive
