These appear to be good examples of Macassar Ebony. Too bad my photography skills and camera are not of the best quality because the project turned out better than I expected. The scale is well polished and should last a lot longer than I did. If your woodworking skills are as questionable as mine, then ebony is the way to go. It cuts and grinds more like aluminum or brass than regular wood, making it less prone to failure. Overall I am very happy with the scale and am hoping the seller stocks it next month as I will definitely be buying more.
