Ideal for most fountain pens!
I write my current journal with a fountain pen on a sketch pad and usually have problems with heavy bleed through when using a 50-60 lb pad or clogging the pens to thickness and/or cover pads with a weight from 80-100 lbs. As Goldilocks would say, this 70 pound notebook is "just right" for my pens - it won't bleed through even the blackest ink, and the paper is relatively thin and very smooth - I can use EF, BB or Write italic tips and everything average between them. This will be my favorite notebook for as long as it lasts.
