This product was relatively easy to install. It was actually easier to install on a Mac than on a PC. For Mac I simply downloaded the printer software (in my case an HP Photosmart B8850) and the printer was automatically recognized by the operating system. However, I had a small problem when installing a new printer on a PC. The JetDirect instructions state that you must first run the JetDirect installer before installing the printer software. Unfortunately, when I got to the point where I needed to install printer drivers, I couldn't eject the CD (Windows locked the drive) and I only had one CD drive (laptop). I solved this problem by copying the entire CD to my hard drive and running the JetDirect installation CD again.
