I find this more secure than a traditional kill switch strap. The boat will not start until you confirm with the fob or remap the radio switch, so make sure you are either wearing the fob or confirm you are not wearing one. This allows you to move freely around the boat at idle and with the engine running without having to plug and unplug the traditional kill switch cable. You can also impress your friends with the fact that you can disconnect the motor from the docking station by simply pressing the key fob. I liked this product so much that I bought it first for my new boat.
