The driver's side gasket started to leak. One of the seals seems fine, the other didn't work and leaks worse than the original. It is very difficult to tell if this is due to a manufacturing defect in the seal or damage during installation as these seals have an internal rotating element that cannot be seen without destroying the seal. made sure that everything on the body, axle tube and axle shaft is sparkling clean. There was no wear damage to the axle shaft and the original leaking gasket showed no visible wear. This would lead me to believe that the sealing problem is with the inside of the seal and not the part that touches the axle.
