Review on πŸͺ‘ GCI Outdoor SitBacker Canoe Seat with Adjustable Back Support by Frank Ridl

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Disappointment with fabric breakage

This seat was purchased for a trip to Canada to be used as a bench on a 17ft fishing boat. The seat was comfortable and provided good back support, but by the end of the second day the split seat was beginning to unravel and by the middle of the third day the fabric had completely fallen apart (see photo). The split seat is designed to flex in a molded canoe seat, but is not required on a flat canoe or regular boat seat, and the straps cannot be used on the solid seat platform of a 17-foot half-wedge aluminum boat. Hut. I used the seat for the rest of the week and my back support was good but the bottom of the seat was useless. I'm 6'1" and 235 pounds, but apparently I was too heavy, which frustrated me.

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • low repairability
