Review on Makita HP2050F 6Amp Hammer Drill by Janis Gailitis ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I like it, thank you for the quality product.

I took it for the weekend, to make several holes in the balcony slab, which I had previously drilled with a purely domestic B&D about 500W (I don’t remember the model, it was a long time ago). I’m not arguing, I’m just sure that under similar loads Makita will survive at least 2 B&D, but still, B&D drills concrete better (similar drills are used), which means it is more versatile for domestic use. Sorry, for a completely incorrect comparison, but Hamer (~ 550 W), "hollows" concrete easier, peace be upon him (exploitation 1.5 years, one repair per 1 sq. sq. + small-household dacha work) Turnkey head. hello from the past. Bosch already has "manual" nuts under the angle grinder. did not write in shortcomings, tk. I think that this is acceptable for professional use (see below). Based on the foregoing, I can say that the Makita HP 2050 is more of a professional drill, and it is suitable for jobs where you need to drill a lot . anything but concrete. For example: Wood, brick, metal. But, if you want to take it for the house, and the house is panel, then only as an addition to the puncher, because. Nowhere is the impact power indicated low. In the professional field, when working on metal and wood, it can become an indispensable assistant. If you need a "universal fighter" just for home, I think that for much less money you can take drills of the Zubr, Interskol, B&D brands. And let there be 100 W less power, in Makita it is too much for everyday life, as well as prices.

Pros
  • Ergonomic (comfortable grip), hole depth limiter, Good rotational power (720W, I believe)
Cons
  • Pound badly. Practically does not hammer, but "scratches" the concrete. Saves only the power of rotation and pressure of 30-50 kg (namely, power, not speed, because when pressed at about 50 kg, many drills lose speed and even "stop") Gear changes are tight and only when the head is rotated (maybe it should be?) It costs almost like a semi-professional perf., but it's not worth it.
