I searched very carefully on ebay for blackout curtains for my bedroom. When I found these curtains in the size I needed I ordered them. The online description said "blackout" curtains and also the packaging said "blackout". I was disappointed to discover that they are really "room darkening" which is not enough to block out the morning sun. The product information also said that they were "thermal" which is not true either. The curtains are single-layer medium-thick material with no lining at all. I gave them a 3-star rating because they are fairly well-made and do, in fact, somewhat darken the room. I think this is false advertising and I regret buying these curtains.UPDATE: The PR person for this company reached out to me to make amends. Because I like the curtains and wish to keep them, the only thing the company can do is to reword the description to emphasize room-darkening as opposed to blackout. If you’re looking for blackout curtains look for "100% blackout”. I’ll know next time!
