Ratings aren't just exaggerated, they are downright dangerous!

I'm a retired electrical engineer, but you don't need to be an engineer to look up ampacity charts.I have no idea what this company it trying to pull, but there is NO WAY 6-AWG cable is going to carry 300A safely. At 60C/140F, here are the general safe current capabilities of the gauges they are selling here. The claimed value in the description is in square brackets:6-AWG: 60A [300A]8-AWG: 40A [100A]10-AWG: 30A [50A]Don't just take my word for it, look up "copper ampacity." I see so much unsafe recommendations and products that it's scary. Many people wouldn't know and trust that the seller knows their products. but sellers just sell.Be careful with what you're buying and always double check specifications. How much are you willing to bet that the switches are also grossly exaggerated in current carrying capacity?

Pros
  • Waterproof & Protective Cover:This waterproof power disconnect cut off switch is designed with a waterproof cover on the top can better protect the key hole. Professional characteristics, high reliability. Compact size, sleek modern appearance, easy to install and Cable connection.
Cons
  • The switch may be difficult to find replacement parts for, if needed

I used this switch for my 24V 100A outboard electric motor. It melted several minutes into our journey and left us scrambling to avoid being blown aground. Melted. On inspection, the terminals are nowhere near as thick as the cables required for 100A loads, and the contact surfaces internal to the switch are even smaller. I don’t know what planet this is considered “100A continuous.” Total fail.
