Review on πŸ”’ XENA Motorcycle Disc Lock Alarm Yellow - Ultimate Security for Your Bike by Erik Barela

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good cheap alarm for your bike

I bought this alarm to fit a Suzuki SV650 with standard brake discs. Even though my bike is blue and comes with a blue lock, I chose yellow to make it stand out from the bike. The lock fits snugly on the front rotor and the sensitivity can be adjusted depending on the position of the alarm. The alarm is loud enough and gives enough warning before it goes off, giving you plenty of time to turn it off before making a scene. Even though it accidentally got wet it still works properly so I'm sure it will work even in wet weather. The alarm only sounds for 15 seconds to avoid draining the battery too quickly. It's quite bulky and hefty, making it feel pretty solid. The alarm goes off before anyone can remove it unless they can get the key. Despite these rave reviews, it has some flaws. The "armed" sensor is infrared and uses a mirror that is easy to get dirty. It's not possible to simply disable the alarm for things like transportation or battery replacement. The alarm clock will turn on in the unlocked state if the IR sensor is covered. It can't be the alarm's fault, but it's almost impossible to install this thing in a storage area without unlocking and arming it. off when someone gets on the bike. You have to mount it near the top of the rotor for maximum sensitivity, but I can get on the bike and pick it up without disconnecting it. I had to smack the steering wheel to turn it on. It'll definitely remind you that it's there before you can take off with it still on the rotor, but that won't stop people from robbing your bike. I kinda see it as good and bad because at least it doesn't trigger due to random vibration or noise. In general, this is a good alarm clock. This improves your bike's theft protection (don't get me wrong, I'm under no illusions it will prevent outright theft), it's easy to use and works pretty well. In addition, if your insurance company offers a discount on the alarm, it must also meet the eligibility requirements. This is done with Geico.
