Review on Continental ContiCrossContact LX2 215/65 R16 98H summer by Michal Wasowicz

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A great option for this money, I definitely recommend it!

replaced the stock bridges on the Suzuki Grand Vitara with tires measuring 225/65/17. Wishlist originally intended to take something gentler. I looked at European brands because, according to reports, "the Japanese are not the same anymore." I finally decided on these continental and Michelin Latitude Cross versions. 10% gravel/sand and 90% asphalt comprise my mileage. I chose Kontik since the Michelin tread felt too off-road to me. Despite sitting down in both the sand and the mud rut on this rubber, he was able to self-extricate. Despite the fact that this is a Grand Vitara, I had no choice but to use road tires. I enjoy rubber. For SUVs, which spend 90% of their time on asphalt, I think it's a decent option. Although this tire is not very well-liked by drivers for some reason, I notice cars with Michelin Latitude Cross tires considerably more frequently. addendum from September 14, 2022 the review was created in April 2022, which is more than 2.5 years ago. After four years of rubber use, I can now state that: - I discovered its weak point, which is the sidewall (every summer I drive 500–800 km on gravel, and this gravel does not spare the sidewall, traces of wear are very visible); - but with my primarily urban use, I really like the rubber, which is very soft, excellent for braking and good for taxiing. In my perspective, I would choose the same. supplement from June 14, 2022 The steering wheel started to thrash a bit. A hernia was discovered during tire installation on the running portion of the right front wheel. Rubber was also being pounded on the other three wheels, albeit to a lesser extent. The installers' conclusion was that the tires should be replaced. Nevertheless, years of reckless driving on a damaged grader have left their mark. The running part also has little cracks in it. Rubber 2022 year, acquired in 2022, has traveled 41 000 kilometers during this period. The tread residue still looks good. I believe the future rubber should be stronger, like the brand-new Dunlop AT5.

Pros
  • 1. Soft. 2. Quiet 3. Superb braking on both dry and slick surfaces 3. I hope there will be enough resources (1,000 kilometers). Even though the tires have just traveled 20 000 km (since August 2022), there are still no obvious symptoms of substantial wear.
Cons
  • The protector has the drawback of getting a lot of little stones lodged in it.
