Build quality isn't great, but for a cheap coffee maker it's great. I take it on hikes, I've used it at home and sometimes at work. It makes pretty decent coffee, not sure if it makes a real "espresso" but it's a great coffee/espresso maker. It basically works the same as a percolator. I think I read a review from a guy that said always leave the lid on when cooking, and it's TRUE! Very right. This will help avoid making a mess, if you notice him filling his serving cup be prepared to take him off the stove because if he gets too big he likes to make a mess. For camping, it's easier to pack than my AeroPress, it's really easy to clean, you just have to let it cool down a bit. If something happened to him while I was camping it would be about $8 so this guy paid off really easy at this point and that's pretty impressive for the friends I make coffee for when they have nothing to do . make your own
