Build quality isn't great, but for a cheap coffee maker it's great. I take it on hikes, I've used it at home and sometimes at work. It makes pretty decent coffee, not sure if it makes a real "espresso" but it's a great coffee/espresso maker. It basically works the same as a percolator.
