Doesn't work well on macOS and not on everyone in bootcamp

I got this dual display adapter from my 16 inch Macbook Pro: HMDI 1080p Dell U2417H and older standard DVI Dell 1908FP. I use both macOS and Windows 10 in bootcamp and this adapter doesn't work with both. I got this because it seemed like ads/reviews seemed to suggest it could run both displays without mirroring them. On macOS, this adapter can only drive both displays, mirroring one works at a very low resolution, and absolutely nothing happens in bootcamp when you connect a monitor (only the USB ports are active). Pooh.
