Review on πŸ”¬ QX5 Digital Microscope by Digital Blue by Andrew Grant

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great teaching tool

I learned about this digital microscope through the Master Gardener program in Marin County, California and I have to say it makes a very interesting addition to my home teaching library. QX5 is very easy to set up and run. It offers the flexibility to view footage on an existing stand or in manual mode. Accurate focusing is a bit difficult to achieve, but overall performance is excellent for the price. It has 10X, 60X and 200X power, so it can be used for many slides. I mainly use it with plant tissue, insects and to examine diseased plants. It meets all expectations and is very versatile for visual inspection of the smallest objects that are not visible to the naked eye. As an educational institution for children, I find it very useful and valuable for adults to discover the world in a different way. It's amazing to find a microscope that works so well with a PC that not only does it offer great magnification but it can also take photos and videos! I just did a presentation with photo and video modes for insect plant specimens. Try this device and you will be amazed by the image quality. An LED light source is sufficient for most observations. I use an additional LED flashlight to add more light to the subject. This device has an upper and a lower light source. Frank thinks you will love this microscope. Highly recommended.
