Overall this is a fun toy. The software often crashes on Vista, but other than that it's really easy to use with some cool tools! It's a toy - the cheap plastic handle doesn't work smoothly. QX5 is very easy to set up and run. It offers the flexibility to view footage on an existing stand or in manual mode. Love this microscope! My kids and I have great fun with it. The best part is the ability to take pictures and videos of what you're watching. My son used the photos for his science homework. I bought it for my daughter as an educational toy. The design is cheap and of very poor quality. It also doesn't have its own power supply and is USB powered. The software is primitive and constantly sets my display to the lowest possible resolution. UPDATE: All the PCs I had problems with were AMD based. I recently received an Intel computer with XP.
