Yes I use them in my kitchen but I'm not trying to get them to cut big bones (maybe they could but I appreciate these scissors as much as I do for other purposes, so maybe I'm being overly cautious). They find the same wide application when it comes to opening packages wrapped in thick plastic where even heavy scissors cannot. No more frustrating struggle. Or unpacking shipments when the items are covered with multiple layers of packaging material. Cuts through these layers like butter. Or dealing with the countless thick wires and cable ties that prevent children's toys from being pulled out of the packaging. I use these scissors almost every day, many times a week. They have held up very well over the years.
