Review on πŸͺš Fisch FSF 364757 Point Drill - Imperial by Chris Edgerton

Not the best quality

After receiving and inspecting this sharp drill bit set I immediately sent it back. And thanks to Revain for the easy return process. There are two quality issues with these bits. First, cutting lips (screws) are not cut at the pick head. Using high-quality pointed chisels, these drills plug the hole diameter for a cleaner cut, both inwards and outwards. They also help achieve a smoother sidewall in the bore of the well. Second, the grooves on these bits are not polished. The polished flute greatly contributes to the ejection of wood chips and the reduction of fouling (heating) at the end of the drill. Also note that the four smallest diameter drills are simple 118 degree twist drills. These twist drills should not be included in a "pen tip" drill set. So for myself I use a similar set of Lee Valley pin drills. Yes, they're made in the USA, they're twice the price, but the performance and finish are worth it since you're drilling the expensive walnut or other hardwood in your project. Finally, "budget tools" have their place - after all, it's HF. Bread and butter. So if premium quality is not critical to you, then this set will do the trick. I assume that if used carefully (correct drilling speed and feed rate) acceptable drilling results will be obtained.
