I needed a carburetor to get my Scout back on the road. This is the one I chose. Looks well built but is a little different than a standard Motorcraft carburetor. The power valve is lower than any Motorcraft bike I've owned. Luckily I used a phenolic gasket under the carb which gave it enough room. accelerator pump - longer version; I had to adjust the Scouts thermostat lever and housing a bit with a grinder and also bend the pump linkage to make it work. When I installed it it worked fine until you tried to get it up to freeway speed then it wanted to shut down and take off. I adjusted the float slightly so it was parallel to the top of the carb body but it still didn't help. I pulled out the jets and as other people have noted they have different threads than the "real" Motorcraft. So I did what you're not supposed to do and reamed the jets to about the size of the jets in my other Motorcraft carburetor. That fixed everything, now it works great and doesn't stall like my worn out carburetor. But a lot of work to get it right, replacement jets are pretty much useless if there are no matching jets.
