Review on πŸšͺ PRIME-LINE Storm Door Chain and Spring K5026 - Aluminum Finish by Brian Wersching

Great product on hardware

This recoil spring is just what I was looking for. Easy installation and the spring hangs well in the side. Simply measure 17 inches from the top of the doorway and then screw the bracket on with a heavy duty hinge making sure the bracket faces the inside of the doorway (see photo). I didn't drill anything, I just screwed in the screws with no problems. Then measure the same distance on the door itself and screw in another anchor element. You may need to pre-drill these holes in the door before installing this bracket, but I didn't. Once again I drilled the screws directly into the door and then once you connected the other bracket to the door, connect the chain to the included S-Link. After connecting these two clips to the chain with the S-loop, you need to close the S-loop to prevent the chain from slipping out (see photo). I used a couple of vices to compress it. Then if you don't want the chain to get in the way you just need to measure 2 inches from the inside door opening and either drive in the included anchor or use a wood screw like I did (see photo). This will keep your chain from dangling, but if you don't mind the dangling chain then you don't need to use that last anchor, you can just let the chain dangle. Hope this info helps
