This gate is very strong, all metal. No plastic clips or clips. It is very easy to install as the plank has a metal strip with two holes along the laid side. No crazy measurements and adjustments required like many other gates, they automatically fit and work as they should. We use it as a toddler gate on the front door so sometimes it doesn't come onto the porch. I chose it partly because it's all metal, and partly because it latches when you close it behind you. Not automatically, but that's what we wanted. Plus, it swings in both directions, so you can use it almost anywhere. It is slim in profile and looks neat and tidy. It's a little more money than most baby gates, but it's worth the extra money, you don't have to replace this one and you can use it for multiple children. The only very small downside is that it makes a small noise when closing. However, you can buffer the sound by pinching it with your hand. I can only recommend this goal, we are very happy with it.
