A few things you should know: First, the setup requires some technical understanding and when working with smart home assistants it is limited to these interfaces. The app pretty much gives me complete control over my; TV, stereo, fan and air conditioning from my phone. When using Alexa, I can turn devices on and off. If you use Google, you need to tell it to turn on Smart Life before you can control your devices. Pretty clumsy, but that's probably how Google is set up. Best of all, I can usually find my phone when I can't find my remotes. Second, I can use Alexa to turn off the fan or air conditioner without getting off the couch. Both are worth buying, they're really quite cheap and who likes to get up when they've just sat down? When it comes to voice control, devices not originally designed for voice control will continue to struggle. What we really need is an open standard or other than this single echo system.
