I had to buy this replacement set because after 3 years the ones fitted during the kitchen renovation stopped working. I guess at $2 a piece you can't expect them to last forever, but then again with 20-30 doors in an average kitchen it costs over $50 every few years just so the doors don't close as hard. If they're worn out, it would be far better to make them repairable - maybe a kit with a new spring (or something) for 50 cents. It's a solid block - not sure how they do it given the plastic piston and nickel body - but I couldn't figure out how to take it apart to see if I could reverse engineer a solution.
