If you're a buyer of this type of lock and need an extra lock to match, you probably don't want to wait months for that lock. As for adding/ As far as replacing keys is concerned, I've heard that the process is similar when it comes to replacing it through an authorized one Ordering from a dealer, paying a pretty hefty fee, and then waiting weeks or months for it to arrive, but at least I see a use case when it can be appropriate.
