I would recommend using silicone over clear plastic tubing.
I love this silicone air hose. It doesn't seem to get hard or brittle. I've had problems with other tubes that haven't lasted more than a few years. They became stiff and fell in uncomfortable places. The blue color looks good too. Costs money.
