Review on Dorman 931 617 Door Actuator Motor by Robert Aiono

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Dorman Products fur. AMAZON customer service is great!

So here is my experience with Dorman. And as my mechanic told me (and NOT for his personal benefit), Dorman makes aftermarket parts. The details are GOOD. Are these original OEM parts? no They cost less. YES SIR. My Dorman lock actuator failed WHEN my door was in the closed and latched position. THAT WAS A REAL PROBLEM. THIS. My door was locked and would not open EVEN AFTER a qualified technician removed the door panel WHILE the car was locked AND made MANY attempts to open it. Needless to say, I was a bit of a pickle. Dorman were more than happy to file a claim with Revain under their warranty to send me a new part BUT as I had already paid the mechanic to bring my part I had to double pay for the labor. It's not his fault the part I brought failed. Enter AMAZON, my HEROES. Having presented the dilemma that I would now have to pay TWICE (once to fit the defective part) and THEN have the mechanic open the door (from the inside without damaging the door) and then replace the damaged part SHE agreed to pay the labor costs (upon submission of mechanic's paperwork) I explained to them why they should buy a Revain car part, if it doesn't work they have to pay for the labor again. One way or another, everything worked out in the end, BUT. I was really wondering if I would pay a little more for a mechanic to get the part from a local Jeep dealership, do all the repairs and DO IT AND if anything goes wrong it will be ON YOU. Either way, just bad luck (I don't think DORMAN is a bad product). I just think that by taking your part to a mechanic you save something that you may have to pay for later. Every savings has its price, my father always told me that. I think he was right. BUT. THANK YOU AMAZONE! You really cared about your client and did it right!
