They are almost as strong and durable as much more expensive clamps. The thickness of the steel is about the same. The tips don't stick, but that's common to all the spring clips I own and I have at least 50. Apply contact glue, a dab of liquid nails, or your metal of choice to the plastic. Glue if that's a problem. They're cheap enough that I use them for all kinds of things, like sealing a bag of dog food. So my dogs have nothing else to eat in their food. I just added 2 servings. to my workspace for wood projects. What they do, they do well. They are worth the money spent. It's been a while and they're holding up well. I used to walk to and from the store in the home garage, garden chicken coop. You'll be surprised how useful a stack of these clips can be. The orange tips (where they help) stick on easily and stay in place. I plan to buy more.
