From an upgrade perspective, replacing bad pads with good pads is the best bang for your buck. were supplied with my Fuji road bike until I replaced them with them. Braking is much smoother and I can control my speed much better. The Tektro brakes aren't great, but pads aside, they're decent enough. However, replacing the stock pads with them was like a whole new set of good brakes. On forums where such things are discussed, there seems to be a consensus that average quality brakes with good pads are preferable to good brakes with average or bad pads. My experience confirms this. When in doubt about your brake pads, replace them with these - you won't be disappointed.
