October 21 update. The manufacturer contacted me and offered to make two custom-sized filters free of charge and send them to me. I was impressed by her honesty. For that alone I've raised my rating to 4 stars and will update it as soon as I receive it. --------------------------------------- Original Review: We have lived in this house for 12 years and I have many different 16 x 25 x 1 inch filters Bought. Some are a bit smaller so you don't have to struggle getting them in and out, but our opening is 16 x 25 x 1 and the guard that holds them in place is 1/4 inch at the top and bottom , so when I put it in the top it dangles freely and is easy to pull into the firebox. How can they be blunt? I know the sizes aren't exact and it's a bit smaller, but it's even a bit smaller than for actual size given. wanted to try this to make the air cleaner but unfortunately they will be back. This company should know better. 16x25 should be a little smaller at most, otherwise they shouldn't sell it as a 16x25 filter.
