Listen to the other reviews about how hard it is to remove to cover.The item is thicker gauge steel than the old no name cocktail shaker I used to use and will undoubtedly last longer.This also means that you can’t strike it with your palm to break the seal and unstick the lid.

The reviews about it being impossible to remove are accurate. I needed to use my ice mallet (and sheared off an edge) to dislodge the lid to wash it properly.Will be returning and getting a Boston tin on tin shaker.
