Matching hub but not "Powered "

Searching Revain for "Powered USB 3.0 Hub" shows this product. I bought it and needed to be more thorough in both my reading comprehension and decision making. The device is NOT powered by anything other than the USB cable connecting the hub to the computer's USB port. Do the math: 7 data ports and no external power supply are only a limited functionality of the device. To make matters worse, there's a mini-port that you can plug an AC adapter into, but there's absolutely no information on what amps, volts, or watts it takes to power the device. Connecting to the wrong transformer can cause serious problems. I connected the unit to a transformer from an old Belkin 6-port hub and the 7-port hub worked fine even when powering an external hard drive. However, if you don't know if the amperes, volts or watts produced by the Belkin transformer meet the requirements of a 7-port hub, this device may cause problems in the future. I'm not crazy about information loss, internal computer damage or, in extreme cases, electrical fires. Also, it worries me why the wattage wasn't available, especially since it's typically found on most electrical devices. It was logical to give up this device for one with power and from another manufacturer - I did.
