I've never held a thread and needle together. Even then, it was an easy 30 minute install. 1 minute watch crappy instructions. 2 minutes to understand that I need to hook the thread into the needle. how to tie a knot at the end of a thread. 18-20 minutes using thread to attach the lid to the handle. It was easy to stick the needle through the end you can see. As you lower yourself into the lid, it becomes more difficult to maneuver the needle around the switch. I used pliers to pull the needle out the other end and set the machine to neutral for the last few stitches. The seams could have been tightened but I don't think they will unravel. It was a lot of fun sewing for the first time, I will do more.
