I bought a set of these to replace some broken rivets on my kayak. I opened the package, saw the instructions, it says to drill a 10mm hole. When I measured the size of the rubber it was closer to 9.2-9.4mm in diameter, as was the test drill with a 3/8" (9.52mm) drill bit in other test material and it held up well. My kayak has a 3/8" bore and it works well, maybe better than the 10mm bore. The outside of the well nut isn't particularly thick, so it can be difficult to remove as it locks in place and spot turns.
