For our chick hatching this time, I bought this instead of the traditional red infrared lamp I've used in the past. This (150w version) works well and provides enough heat for our 8 chick incubator. I like the smaller profile of this lamp and the fact that it doesn't emit any light at all. It pairs perfectly with the light housing ($6.88) purchased at Walmart. The additional temperature gauge/sensor is an added bonus. I am happy with this purchase. At the time of writing, the lamp in our incubator was still running.
