Yes it works and yes I found the missing remote the same day it arrived.
The one on the left came with the TV. The right one is new. I ordered this remote after my original remote went missing for a little over a week. My TCL TV is almost useless without a remote control so I was very upset when I couldn't find one. Anyway, I needed a remote control and was offered one, so I went for it. It worked right away without having to do any tweaks, change settings, or perform any weird processes. No claims from me. I now have a backup remote too.
