I knew these shortcomings when I bought it, but I took it deliberately, since before that there was a top Lumix soap dish (from 18x). Naturally after the purchase was happy as an elephant. Feels like I bought a thing. It is absolutely pointless to advise someone to take or not to take, because different people perceive the quality of the image in completely different ways - someone needs sharp, someone needs colors, someone needs bokeh, etc. Here you need to understand that not everyone will buy 24-70 + 70-200. And even if they buy - where to put all this economy. And if you take it to the mountains? So there is a gradual understanding of what is generally needed - super quality (in your understanding) or the ability to take diverse pictures. And oddly enough, whoever just takes more pictures will get more cool pictures! So 18-200 can be safely taken as a travel lens. No need to be afraid that you wonβt sell later (I have it with my hands). By the way, I didn't want to leave. I advise all beginners. PS By the way, after 2 and 2.8 I decided to try 24-120 f4 - I also really like it! (But this is already FX)
