The stand holds heavier weights
I used this stand to mount a heavier A3 light box; The stand holds the weight comfortably. In addition, several adjustment levels ensure sufficient angle variation. As for slipping on the surface, I put a big clip on the edge of the table and then don't worry about pressing too hard and causing a crash.
