Review on 🍺 Maximize Brewing Precision with the Beer Wort Wine Refractometer Scale! by Michael Boyce

Not very accurate for analytical instruments

Not as accurate as hydrometer. I'm not sure what to honestly say about this product. I suppose if you're brewing a ton of beer and have the time to do lots and lots of cross-referencing with your hydrometer at various SGs to create a large enough correction chart for it, then this will prove more useful than I've found it to be so is. Because it's not even close to multiple hydrometers set by one SG and then pointing to another. For example, if I set it up to read the first run's SG correctly, then my second run's readings will differ from the hydrometer readings, and the third run's readings will be far off. As such, it can come in handy if you've always wanted to hit the same SG target over and over again. For example if you have grapes from different vines and/or malts from different malts and you want to add sugar to these grapes or malts to get exactly the same SG per batch of wine or must. I look cool using it and impress my friends who are watching me. In my opinion, that's all he's good at.

Pros
  • Brix measurements: 0-32% and specific gravity: 1.000-1.120
Cons
  • Slightly torn
