Review on 🔒 Enhance Security and Automation with BeSense Z-Wave Ceiling PIR Motion Detector by Bernardino Suazo

It connects directly to my SmartThings hub. It's certainly sensitive enough from an 8ft ceiling downwards. I haven't tried it higher. The sensor is big. Also, I wish there was a jumper setting to turn off the slightly bright LED ring. At 1/3 size I would give 5 stars. I have another problem with this. There are 2 modes, Test and "Full". In test mode it fires about every 5 seconds. In "Run" mode, it is triggered every 3 minutes. This is normal when there is an alarm. However, 3 minutes does not work for home automation. The problem with the "test" mode is that it stays "open" for quite a long time (30 seconds?). I understand why they want to limit the number of times they send a signal. It consumes a lot of battery power. However, in my case the place in question is only used about 25 times a day and I'm willing to replace the batteries every 6 months instead of 2 years. So test mode works for home automation, but doesn't reset itself to a closed state fast enough. It doesn't break the deal, but it's annoying.
