Mac mini startup freezes when connected to this USB hub

. This hub has a nice solid metal body construction. While the ports on the top make it easy to connect cables, it looks very messy with so many cables sticking out in the air. The blue LEDs for each port are useful to indicate that the port is active. They're not too bright either. The power cord could be longer. It barely reaches from one side of my table to the other. (Computer on one side, UPS on the other.) After unboxing the hub, I plugged it into my 2018 Mac Mini. I connected multiple devices and each was recognized. I cloned my boot drive to a portable drive connected to a hub and it worked without any problems. Then I tried to boot from my backup. I restarted and the Apple logo appeared, but nothing else happened. He froze. Thinking the problem was the backup drive, I unplugged it and rebooted. The same slope. I unplugged all devices from the hub and restarted. The same slope. I turned off the hub and restarted it. The same slope. I disconnected the hub from the Mac and restarted the computer. The Mac started with no problems. Apparently, the hub is interfering with the Mac's startup process. I can connect it later and it works fine. I am extremely disappointed. It wasn't the cheapest hub so I figured I'd buy a quality one. Now I don't know what to do with it. Digging through the tightly packed cables on the back of the Mac Mini to unplug it every time I want to restart my computer is unacceptable.
