We borrowed a GPS on one of our previous trips and it made navigation so much easier and the overall trip less stressful that we knew we had to buy one for ourselves . I did a lot of research online before deciding on this model and we used it straight away - I had to charge it for hours first and as other reviewers have pointed out it does NOT come with a cord that you will be using . You have to charge it inside - you'll have to buy a wall charger - or a special cable that lets you charge it through your computer. I programmed all the addresses we need for our upcoming trip (hotel, wedding venue, rehearsal dinner restaurant, etc.). I even added a few extra addresses in case we get a chance to visit them so they're available for us while we were away. It was the best trip we've ever had. Speaking of not getting worked up about where we're going in an unfamiliar big city - it's very nice to know exactly where to turn and which lane to turn into! - but it was the USER's fault, not Garmin. I would highly recommend this Garmin to anyone - the peace of mind is priceless - and now we really feel like we can go anywhere and navigate with confidence!
