Review on πŸ’‘ Krieger 150W Voltage Transformer: Step Up/Down Converter for American and European AC Outlet, 110/120V to 220/240V, UL and CSA Approved by James Stevenson

Runs quietly and doesn't get hot

I bought a Krieger 1150w voltage converter to use as a step-up transformer to convert 110v to 220v. I use it on studio monitors bought in Europe, not realizing that monitors don't have a 120/230 switch like my old ones have monitors. I live abroad and the return shipping cost was more than the cost of the monitors. Quite an oversight, "hey," but that's exactly what happened. So I scoured the web for Transformers after reading so many reviews many of which talked about "smells and smoke". But when I came across Krieger, most of the reviews were positive and I needed something solid so I took a chance and I'm glad I did. A 1150w transformer might be overkill for what I need it for, but if I buy more equipment that needs to be converted at least I'll have the power. The Warrior is quieter, which is a big plus for me given its close proximity to the listening position. It also stays pretty cool to the touch. The device makes a well-made impression, has a good weight and looks good. I was very concerned if there would be any interference, like hum from studio monitors. And I'm happy to say there's no hum at all. I can't say anything about the durability, but I really hope it will last. This is my first time using a transformer converter and I'm definitely glad I chose Krieger. "Thumbs up"!
