Ok, reviews are correct. You CAN install them without removing the front bumper, fender flares, etc., but you WILL be paid for your effort! The reviewers are right, the instructions are pretty bad. To be honest, it made more sense to go to YouTube. I was already on my way to removing the bumper when some of the plastic pins in the fender flare started giving me trouble (yes I had removal tools) so I decided to see if I could remove some of the under hood parts . and squeeze my hands and arms there, since I don't have tree trunks for hands. BTW there are at least 2 different types of push pins involved in removal so keep that in mind. One of them has an insert and the other has a rectangular head that sits in a groove in the wing flare. Short answer? Yes, I could put my dirty mittens in there. Finding and manipulating the plastic fasteners on the factory inserts was a real headache for the asteroid, and I swore like a sailor about the whole thing a few times. You will literally need two hands to do it this way and it is very uncomfortable to do it at times. I was getting better but also got stuck a few times, sweating profusely and was tired and treated Jeep cat scratches on BOTH arms with Neosporin (we're talking dents in some spots) for several weeks. I considered removing the bumper again but my stubbornness took its toll and I refused to let it win! So what can I recommend? When purchasing this item, purchase some spare thumbtacks, purchase removal tools, and watch YouTube how to remove your front bumper to see if this is within your comfort zone or not. I wouldn't try the "arm" method again for any reason. bottom line? I dig a look. On my Limited, it continues the honeycomb look of the floor and made me wonder why it originally came with those usual straight vertical lines. I would say that they are not as strong there as the factories. I gave it 3 stars because of these instructions which took the grammar lightly and made the whole process easier than it really was. If not, then definitely 4 stars.
