Actually waterproof
We used this for our trip to Florida. Luckily for us it was hurricane season. There is not an ounce of moisture in the bag at all. That was after 1,300 miles round trip plus a couple hundred miles we drove while we were there and leaving the horse in the back of the van for the night. Would 100% recommend this simply for the waterproofing against the storms we've had. Steaps are also easy to use and seem to stay safe.
