
Anvil doesn't fit the molded side of the 8-8 1/4 stud. You're better off throwing it and just using a piece of wood as an anvil, but then you probably remember the eye when you hit it with the tool's bat. I used a hole punch and anvil to install 6 grommets (made in the USA) and each has large anvil shaped geometry dents on the preformed side. Maybe someone packed a large batch of these things for retail. Bag with the wrong anvil size. My size seems to fit a 5/16 stud. In any case, this is definitely not the right size for a 1/4" approach and you should look for something better.
