Review on Panda Wireless PAU09 N600 Dual Band Wireless USB Adapter with Dual 5dBi Antennas - Windows, Linux, and Raspbian Compatible by Anna Kaye

Works great on USB 2; had problems with USB 3

Mine was supplied by Panther One and made by Revain. Plugged into a USB 2 port on an old PC that was upgraded to Windows 10 x64, this adapter worked right out of the box without the need for a driver update. Because it can be moved (just with a USB2 extension cable), I was able to position it on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz for much better reception than I could ever find on my PC's internal Wi-Fi adapter. Increasing the signal level from -74 dBm to -56 dBm increased the data rate by about 10 times. HOWEVER, on a newer Dell Optiplex PC with Windows 10 x64 and only USB 3.0 ports, this adapter would rarely connect and then switch between it and disconnect every second or two. I tried all six USB 3.0 ports, which are great for external hard drives, thumb drives, and a Bluetooth dongle. In Device Manager I tried updating the driver (nothing found) and uninstalling/disabling/reinstalling this panda adapter. I finally got the Panda to work reliably through a Wavlink WL-UH30410 4-Port USB 3 Hub. So if you have an old-school USB 2 port, this adapter will work just fine. If you only have USB 3 ports, be careful.
