Revainrating 4 out of 5

thick and durable; a bit tricky to hand cut but keeps the detail; translucent and useful for tracking.

- This is a kind of quite thick lavsan template; I believe a little over 10m. While it was difficult to carve by hand, stencils made from it have to withstand *many* uses. I found it interesting and received the package in exchange for my unbiased and honest tests and reviews. -- I don't have a cutting machine, so unfortunately I can't say how they will work with it -- Since I've been cutting by hand for a long time, I have "self-healing". a cutting mat that I use as a surface; I then used fresh/new heavy X-Acto "wood carving" blades with matching handles, a small heavy very sharp cuticle scissors and a sharp tipped diamond file to deal with any remaining rough or "choppy" bits. A mylar, although thick, remains transparent enough to overlay and trace designs, especially if you have a backlit device, but this requires a Sharpie(R) marker or other solvent-based marker, or a pigmented liner; Water-based and ballpoint pens won't write on them with acrylic markers *can*, but I don't have them so can't test them. Make sure the marker or liner ink is completely dry. Mylar is very slick and tends to smear. Also, if you don't like the line or pattern, simply dampen a paper towel with plain 70% rubbing alcohol and then rub the area to "wipe" the large area. part of the lines. I usually prefer to completely cover the mylar brush. Glue stick to apply a thick layer of glue and then press down on the paper with the sketch or printout of the design I want to cut out, then place it between two flat objects and weight down the layers to keep the paper from warping or wrinkles. If the whole thing sits for a while, it will definitely get stuck. I can then cut out the design and sketch out any other elements I might need so I know where to place them on the finished product. This makes it a bit more difficult to carve, but I like having a surface that I can easily draw on with a pencil. It makes it a bit more difficult to cut, but that's what I like to do. The funny thing is, these leaves definitely have some subtle curves, sharp points, and other details, and as mentioned above, should be cared for for a lifetime. has been used many times. This particular stamp also came with a handmade paper cutout with a little story about putting it in windows in China for good luck or saying something about the household, so that was a nice touch.
