- This is a kind of quite thick lavsan template; I believe a little over 10m. While it was difficult to carve by hand, stencils made from it have to withstand *many* uses. I found it interesting and received the package in exchange for my unbiased and honest tests and reviews. -- I don't have a cutting machine, so unfortunately I can't say how they will work with it -- Since I've been cutting by hand for a long time, I have "self-healing". a cutting mat that I use as a surface; I then used fresh/new heavy X-Acto "wood carving" blades with matching handles, a small heavy very sharp cuticle scissors and a sharp tipped diamond file to deal with any remaining rough or "choppy" bits. A mylar, although thick, remains transparent enough to overlay and trace designs, especially if you have a backlit device, but this requires a Sharpie(R) marker or other solvent-based marker, or a pigmented liner; Water-based and ballpoint pens won't write on them with acrylic markers *can*, but I don't have them so can't test them. Make sure the marker or liner ink is completely dry. Mylar is very slick and tends to smear.
