This is a great little welder at an affordable price. But at first I thought it was a piece of junk, I first tried welding it when I was at my cousins house and it kept getting stuck, even at 160 amps. I used 6011 rods. But when I went to my house it worked like a charm at 65 amps with 6011. I think you should make sure your outlets are rated properly before blaming the welders.
