I've tried 2 sets of these devices and there are simply better ones. I can set my speed digitally and they just can't go over 4000rpm AND can't hit an edge of the object you're working on. "Brass" flats are destroyed the fastest, "steel" the worst. The smallest ones usually do well, although they end up twisting and turning into a tightly woven bundle of grinding wires. I use a large spoked wheel on the heads and manifolds followed by a 3" wheel mounted on a drill press for general cleaning and try to use them in smaller nooks and crannies. I end up spending all my time changing bits! After sanding and drum sanding the head and manifolds with other products, then I use them again and they just don't last long and can't handle speed or direction changes compared to other brands I don't buy from Amazon, despite what you might imagine , while you work with them you have nothing to see because the wires are stuck in your pants, socks, stool, wooden bench, hair, shirt and gloves.
